We, at LimeStone Pictures and Production are
very excited about this project. The Devil
is an Ass is a feature film that has been
adapted from the original play. Ben Jonson
wrote the play in the early 1600's. Jonson
has been called one of the worlds best satirists
and that is very clear in the script for The
Devil is an Ass.The story revolves around a
group of the social elite in present day London.
When one of the members of this group wishes
earnestly that the devil would visit him, Satan
agrees to allow his most trusted lieutenant to
do just that, but only for two days. When
the devil arrives he is full of ideas to corrupt
the man and all humanity, but us shocked when he
discovers that his attempts to corrupt are
nothing to what humans do to themselves.
The members of the social elites find themselves involved in petty
squabbles, backstabbing, trickery, thievery and even adultery all in the
name of "self-preservation." This is truly a superb look at humanity
and even though the story is four hundred years old, it still may cause the
staunchest of us see the truth in it all.
